When I start the second Cybrid mission, I can see stars on the top half of the screen but everything else is black, then it looks like im falling away from the stars and EVERYTHING is black. I can still see my hud, I can turn, I can shoot, but theres no scenery and my speed never goes above 0. Sometimes it will automatically fail me about 10 seconds after starting. Halp?
Thank you in advance

Also, I'm running in Windows 8 and already did the fix that let me skip the first cutscene in the human campaign.

Same here as well, not sure what to do to fix it. Its like the terrain doesn't load in time so I fall through the earth. This game is awesome!

Well, i got something that may help, but it is not a fix. It is about to skip the mission, that is buggy:
Open the following folder: Starsiege/campaign/Cybrid (Advanced) and choose the file CA1.cs
This file can be opened by using a texteditor. Go to the following segment: (near the very beginning)
MissionBriefObjective missionObjective1 //destroy crates { isPrimary = true; status = *IDSTR_OBJ_ACTIVE; shortTxt = *IDSTR_CA1_OBJ1_SHORT; longTxt = *IDSTR_CA1_OBJ1_LONG; bmpName = *IDSTR_CA1_OBJ1_BMPNAME; };
MissionBriefObjective missionObjective2 //clear human landing pad for { isPrimary = true; status = *IDSTR_OBJ_ACTIVE; shortTxt = *IDSTR_CA1_OBJ2_SHORT; longTxt = *IDSTR_CA1_OBJ2_LONG; bmpName = *IDSTR_CA1_OBJ2_BMPNAME; };
MissionBriefObjective missionObjective3 //hook up with nexus { isPrimary = true; status = *IDSTR_OBJ_ACTIVE; shortTxt = *IDSTR_CA1_OBJ3_SHORT; longTxt = *IDSTR_CA1_OBJ3_LONG; bmpName = *IDSTR_CA1_OBJ3_BMPNAME; };
Just change all *IDSTR_OBJ_ACTIVE; into *IDSTR_OBJ_COMPLETED; The segment should look like this now:
MissionBriefObjective missionObjective1 //destroy crates { isPrimary = true; status = *IDSTR_OBJ_COMPLETED; shortTxt = *IDSTR_CA1_OBJ1_SHORT; longTxt = *IDSTR_CA1_OBJ1_LONG; bmpName = *IDSTR_CA1_OBJ1_BMPNAME; };
MissionBriefObjective missionObjective2 //clear human landing pad for { isPrimary = true; status = *IDSTR_OBJ_COMPLETED; shortTxt = *IDSTR_CA1_OBJ2_SHORT; longTxt = *IDSTR_CA1_OBJ2_LONG; bmpName = *IDSTR_CA1_OBJ2_BMPNAME; };
MissionBriefObjective missionObjective3 //hook up with nexus { isPrimary = true; status = *IDSTR_OBJ_COMPLETED; shortTxt = *IDSTR_CA1_OBJ3_SHORT; longTxt = *IDSTR_CA1_OBJ3_LONG; bmpName = *IDSTR_CA1_OBJ3_BMPNAME; };
Well, most may guess, that you will win the mission at the very beginning. Also, you get the rewards for the mission.
Hope you still enjoy the game...cya
