I was thinking your name might have looked familiar. I played with Q-Ball, Tsa'Rye, Blue Fox, and a few others. Don't know if those are familiar or not...

I didn't go by Drake during that era - was going by Bek or Harabec. I was in UNMC/GDF at the time.

Yep, and there's the Elementals/GSE2 community over at w.tarazedi.com If you check out the IRC there's people in there all the time pretty much now, and you can set Starsiege to use the new IRC channel. gse.tarazedi.com may be of interest also, especially the gallery: w.tarazedi.com/gallery6

Originally started with my own squad as A.M.T (Armored Mercenary Team) along with my team mates: Buzzard, HeHe, Yo Mama, El Wacko, Inanna and Link during the ATR 1 days-pre patched when laser canons shot similar to emp balls (Feb 1998 through Aug 1998).
Merged with Orion Faction with our own squadron within Orion Faction known as "Scots Guard" in Aug/Sep 1998 after the ATR2 Tech release in July 1998.
Finally achieved PPt (Pure Platinum) status in the SS Community known as "The Testcase Fan Club" TFC in Sept 1998- not a clan or squad.
Moved up the ranks and eventually retired as Fleet Admiral of Orion Faction Feb 2001.
Played off and on for a few years until complete haitus in 2004.
Recently reinstalled game after discovering that there are still around 50 people or more still playing the game after 14 yrs.
Orion Faction squad was formerly known as O4-10 I believe which formed around September/October 1997 under the leadership of Redemption. Most people were basically following the forums and were members of the Dynamix Earthsiege3/Starsiege forum discussing this game and forming squads before the game even came out. One forum moderator I recall was "Botswanna", who eventually became a member of the Orion Faction. Another more popular moderator I believe was known as Katana. He can still be seen from time to time on Testcase's forum website. ONce Redemption left 04-10, known to the original Orion Faction Members as "Black Wednesday" in December 1997 I think, Tanker took over the leadership and the squad was renamed "Orion Faction". Some of the other (more) older squads that were around at the time were RA - Red Armegeddon; NTDF- New Terran Defense Force; CAN -Cybrid Assault Network; UF - Ultra Force; QKMK - Queens Kings and many Knights; WR; HMK - Hurt Maim Kill (these were the guys from the dev team of Dynamix); BDU - Black Death Union; The squad Annie Oakley was from, forgot name, sorry; VTTK-Very Tough To Kill; SK - Storm Keepers; RAGE; IB; EtG metagens?; and a few more, an original atr1 squad for the metagens, forgot their name; etc.
I am pretty sure RA was / is the oldest followed closely by CAN and NTDF. NTDF was the Largest. But, arguably, Orion Faction was the most dominating squad in the Starsiege Universe during first 3 1/2 years of the game including the time period of ATR1 and ATR2. Orion Faction and BDU used to crash NTDF's 64 player server every weekend and gave a great pounding whenever we could. Having approximately 100+ players in the squad meant that it was difficult to rotate everyone in because NTDF was huge as well as BDU. But, it was great fun nonetheless.
Orion Faction won approximately 35+ large scale matches (10 + or greater players vs 10+) - best of 5 and lost only 1 official large scale match against (TA - Terradzai Alliance) Eidelon's squad???maybe??. I recall it was a best of 5 and we lost 1 -3 I think. They were a great squad and had many great players who played with great professionalism, integrity and we had a lot of great laughs with them. Granted, many from the Orion Faction had already retired and/or were playing other games at the time of this epic match and many of Orion Factions elite pilots were no longer available, but we played the best we could with those who were still left. But, no sour grapes here, we simply got beat by the better squad that day as our time of dominance had already passed after 3 yrs of playing. Orion Faction also lost a best of 3 small 5 vs 5 match with GoofParade's squad/clan. We played 3 matches, We tied the first, and they beat us the other two but they were very very close games. Again, no sour grapes, but Orion Faction did not have their elite pilots represented in these matches either because we at the time wanted all who wished to participate to be able to experience official match play. We did have at least 2 or 3 elite pilots for the GoofParade matches, but the others rotated in as needed. GoofParade's squad, which only competed in official 5 vs 5 match style battles, did lose one match against the BDU in a very close match in which BDU won 2 out of 3 matches. Orion Faction had a great run and we were glad to be a part of the Starsiege Universe, its community, and history.
This stuff is written down and archived somewhere and I'm pretty sure that Katana could recall anything that may be missing here.
Still good to see so many people still playing a little bit and that there is a community of gamers for this 'ol game.
See you out on the servers!

eye, I am pretty certain that I remember your old moniker "BADASS" during the ATR's. I think you were still playing the ATR1 for the longest time well after ATR2 came out because you didn't have a very good computer and your connection was not very good. Then, prior to the game going "Gold", in Mar 2000, you finally started playing the final release right? You mostly played in the Bassy in ATR1, and then used the tank and mino alot during ATR2 and the goad from time to time. My memory may be a bit fuzzy, please let know if this was you or not. I do recall going back to ATR1 from time to time well after ATR2 had been released and perhaps playing alongside with you on the ATR1 servers that Dynamix was still supporting. I remember because I had so much fun playing it. It was the simplicity of it with the great return of entertainment that got me basically addicted to it. I recal playing with someone, during this time that had a similar call sign as yours, perhaps it was someone else.
Do you remember the first passing of a Starsiege player during the ATR1/ATR2 days? I believe his callsign was, "Floyd from Accounting". He was an awesome Bassy pilot.
