I don't know if I'm the only one have the problem, when I turn on the mod I get the same message trying to connect to the STS server as the others with it on (or if you try connected with it off) "Client and Server disagree on the number of components aloud"
Know how to fix this?

Put the following in master.cs:
if(isFile("STS-switch.cs")) exec("STS-switch.cs");
function STS::switch(%bool) { if(%bool) fileWrite("STS-switch.cs", overwrite, "$STS::MOD = true; "); else fileWrite("STS-switch.cs", overwrite, "$STS::MOD = false;"); }
if($STS::MOD) { //STSMod Activation newObject( STStechVol, SimVolume, "STSTech.vol"); exec("tech.strings.cs"); exec("tech.sfx.strings.cs"); exec("sound.cs"); $version = "STS 0.9"; }
This is the original chunk of script that Stratus instructs to use to load the STS ..however with a little in game switch.
How to use:
1.) Start up Starsiege normally. 2.) Open Console and type the following function: STS::switch(true); - Enable STS STS::switch(); / STS::switch(false); - Disable STS 3.) Restart Starsiege. 4.) Voila.

I dont mind replacing the master.cs each time I enable STS mod. That and I (think I) followed your instructions and still couldnt see the servers.
Step2: I put all three of those functions in at once or separately?

I still cant get into the server though. The message about different components. I looked for dat and default whatever files in SS root (none found) and moved all dat and default vehicle files in the vehicle folder into a sub folder. Still rejected.

What you have to do is take the STSTech.vol from STSystems/Volumes and move it to the main directory.
Once that is done, make sure the master.cs has the script I wrote above in it and it's the correct one to view the masters hosted by eye/DusterSteve. Once that is all setup - whenever you wish to start the STS Mod, just type the function shown above to turn it on - restart SS and you should be good to go.

Why can't I access the mod files?
