In my squad name are invalid characters for Starsiege to handle when it starts. In a time long long ago I used to start Starsiege with a .bat file that copied a file from mPlayerPrefs.cs to PlayerPrefs.cs where the copied file had the invalid characters in it.
I tried to do this again today but could not get it to work so I am thinking there must have been something in the .bat file that would allow Starsiege to start with the invalid characters. The .bat file I created today looks like this and starts Starsiege OK but my name and Squad Name come out as "unknown".
REM "This is just a quick way to get my signature into Starsiege Game"
REM " My Name $client::Name = "›‹‡›‹Dingo›‹‡›‹"; $client::SquadName = "›‹‡›‹"; have the invalid characters"
cd C:\Dynamix\Starsiege
START Starsiege.exe
copy mplayerPrefs.cs playerPrefs.cs
I treied to reverse the order by copying the file first then starting starsiege but that didn't work either.
Any of you coders out there know how to do this ??
Cheers,
Dingo

Just edit your playerPrefs.cs directly, and after you save it right-click, properties, and lock it. That way when SS boots it won't edit the file.

Long time ago but just fixed the file. Thanks for the answer.
