We've been discussing lately, and the time has come for Starsiege to get a community update. This means that you will help us decide what needs to be fixed or changed. Post your thoughts on what you'd like to see, including possibly new styled weapons and updated vehicles.

Update the Network code. (Fix the Lag) (Shot Delay) Do what u can to the graphics. Dont turn this into some sh it mod, Dont add weps or vehicles. Fix the Turn Hack and No Hud Loss Hack. Fix the Crashing Issues. Fix the Peeps Crashing Servers issues. Fix the Inviso Pred Hack. Hmm Possibly Fix mines, so they Stay on ground and dont dissapear? Fix the Fact that they Go through shields lol. Thats a glitch. Fix the Sgun Exploit, of changing camera views for instant kill. Fix the Dredlock Collision Box issue.
Ask Akolade for more info, he knows all about this stuff.

I'll see if I can address each of these issues:
1: In no .VOL file the network code is mentioned. My theory is it's tied in with the Master Server itself, which would be attributed to Eye, and not the game.
2: There's almost nothing you can do to the graphics. A player tried, and his computer was royally damaged. You can't even add depth to the skins because they require a certain number of pixels.
3: If people want different types of weapons to change up the game, then so be it.
4: What turn hack? Maybe people can just turn good. And the No Hud Loss is a script, and honestly doesn't hurt anything if it's implimented. Hell, I can aim just fine without a HUD anyways, so it doesn't matter.
5: What crashing issues? Usually crashes are attributed to a map changing, which is the fault of the server resetting. I hear even Vista is fixed, as well as 7.
6: People crashing servers? The last time I saw anyone deliberately crash a server was when Scelerus played.
7: What do you mean by inviso pred hack? Physical invisibility or off-the-radar?
8: I'll see what I can do about mines.
9: SGun exploit? This is a new one to me.
10: Dreadlock Collision Box is a valid issue that I'm not sure can be fixed, atleast not by me. An actual cracker like PD might be able to work something out, no promises though.

Every thing i said is legit.
Look,the weps things, that turns it into a mod and not a patch. Patch it first, then make some mods out the ass!
Crashing Isssues!: Peeps ussually have to turn there graphics halfway or less to stop crashing, it happens alot
People Crashing other players and Servers, Who cares if no ones done it lately, fix it.
The Inviso Pred, The exploit where the pred is competely Invisible. Not the stealth pred, which u config to not show on radar, tahts part of the game, not an exploit.
And the No hud loss hack, thats not a script, it is a hack, and yes it does hurt everything if implemented, wtf do you use it, are you trying to defend it.
U have never heard of the Sgun Exploit! U have never heard of the Turn Hack!
The lag issue, ever since the original Master , theres always been slight shot delay, its part of STarsiege, its old code, if u play newer games u notice it. And not the mention the lag when u can ram someone from 20 meters away, fix all that lag.
There are only 2 Hacks available in Starsiege. And Starsiege is still one of the most secure games out there, u play other games and they have punkbuster running, a whole program desighned to stop hacks, but still it doesnt work, u still get peeps hacking there azz off, Flying around, killing everyone without moving, ect.

Perhaps it is more of a mod than a patch, but it also will address a few things, such as the sheps lack of a weakpoint, and an adjustment to the Dread to make it not as overpowering.
I wasn't aware of graphics issues. Who here has to turn theirs down?
People Crashing servers....MIB fixed that.
I've only ever seen an invisible Pred in 1.000. What servers and what circumstances have you seen this so it can be recreated?
No HUD loss is a script, and I don't possibly see what it hurts. No I don't use it, I've never needed to. I try to save my energy, and even if I run out, I can still aim decently because I know where my reticle is.
Elaborate on this sgun exploit and turn hack. Just saying "You've never heard of it" without any definitive backup makes me believe it doesn't exist. Give me details so I can recreate this.
Frankly, I don't figure on how to update the network code without cracking the game. Talk to PD, or I believe Barak had some fixes for the defaultPrefs file.

When u install the the new patch 1.005, are you going to be able to make your starsiege version say 1.005 or will it still say 1.005?
Oh and at least 30% of the peeps have to turn graphics at least halfway to stop crashing, most people will confirm this.
Im aware that MIB patched the crashing people and server issue. But it would be nice to install a fresh copy of Starsiege, then upgrade to 1.005 with that problem solved.
Inviso Pred Hack is available in 1.004, and There is a patch for it. But again, it would be nice to include it in 1.005.
All hacks are scripts, the no hud loss Defeats the purpose of building a good balanced config. With that Exploit one can mount a crappy reactor to make room alot of room for extra goodies, better engines shields, better weps, i dissagree with you there.
The Sgun Exploit is not well known, i probly shouldnt be talking about. I found out about it from Vyper 9thil. He banned Sguns from his 9thil servers cause of it. Im not sure how to do its been so long but here goes. It has something to do with changing your camera view, then shooting alot of sguns. Those sguns will not hit your target. When u go back to another camera view all of a sudden all those sguns u shot, hit your target all at once for an instant kill.
What ever u can do u reduce lag would be great. Like you said, talk to Barak, Stormtrooper, Warren, And Akolade. And Akolade, i know has very much more input on this whole 1.005 matter alot more than i have.
Oh and the Shep Has weakpoints, shield weakspots, Every Vehicle does. Should i tell where they are, perhaps not, i ussually Only Train PS members on where these are, i might disclose this info for a fee mauaha.
Oh And the shield weakspots, are actually a glitch, a glitch that only the weps with Blast damage Exploit. PBW's do not affect Shield weakspots, but emps do. I kinda think this Glitch is Benificial to Starsiege, its adds to the skill level required to play this game. Plus i doubt its fixable

Well I figured out how to make the version at the bottom say 1.005 now, so one issue addressed.

We all have the list and images of each HERC's weakspots and where each component is housed.

I thought of another thing. U know how u can heal, but u still appear damaged to your enemy, we need that fixed.
Also, u know how somtimes u can be sliding around a little bit, but then the screen shifts, for a fraction of a second, then all of a sudden your not laggin, we need that fixed. It happens on every install of Starsiege ive ever done on every differnet video card and system ive had. It liek bounces between those two modes constantly.
Also i thought of something else, u know how after you've been spawned for a while, then all of a sudden your throttle gets stuck, in either full forward or full reverse, no inbetweens? We gotta get that fixed.
Uhm Once last plead, do not add any weapons, or alter any vehicles, do not give any thing extra armor, or take away armor, cause then this patch will not be taken seriously, the game is amazingly balanced, i know some of the tanks suck, but they were meant for campaigns. AFter that go mod crazy! ill try every mod you make! and get my friends to try it too!

Also, heres another glitch to fix, sometimes while healing at the pad, it doesnt heal all of your internals, needs a fix.
PLEASE DONT TURN IT INTO ANOTHER SH ITTY MOD.

If you want I can get you it so you can take a look at it.
it had 3 (i think) new vehicles.
I really think there needs to be more weapons along with vehicles and components to give the game a ""New"" feeling to it.

I agree with surge on most of the glitches, but i do think we should add more electro-plasmatic weapons, and if you were to put new components, do the specials, (for example a field repair kit which can be used once and whatever teamate you scan, is fully healed, but you get badly damaged, and to use it again the bar should fill up [like scap])

oh and i think those weak tanks should be made a bit stronger... because its like a waste of vehicles as no1 uses them.
