I vaguely remember Temujin's work. I only remember the jeep that was put in was tested for a while. Having new vehicles that are greatly detailed than the original vehicles tends to alienate the vehicles themselves. Take, for example, the cybrid vehicles, they all seem similar and compare in detail and textures. Same goes for terran vehicles, they just go together. So far, the new vehicles do not have those similarities. Its like the vehicle does not seem right. It sticks out like a sore thumb from the other vehicles. New weapon models are a different story I guess. They are far easier to make and are probably the easiest models to make for Starsiege. I remember a few of the new weapon models for the old 1.005. They were pretty bad mainly because they were exported from another game. However, weapons fall under the same comparisons. They do not need to be highly detailed. You can look at a few of the weapon models in Starsiege. They use like 4 meshes at the most. If 1.005 was to have new vehicles I would assume it would have new hercs as well and not just tanks . Animating hercs is easier said then done. And finally, dabbling a bit with weapons and projectiles, a semi-decent flame thrower!

LV: Yes, and I tend to agree with him.
I've played (and offered input on) akolade's re-balance mod, and while I really enjoy it, things have changed so much it's the numbers are pretty much on a completely different scale.
So my question is this: what is the specific goal we're looking to achieve with this mod? Minimal balance-oriented changes? Making more things feasible in multiplayer?

@storm - Simply put, the aim is to take what people don't experience..revamp it and make it so people will want to experience it.
Straight-forward: People will not stray from the current gameplay so the hope behind this idea is to update a lot of things to make them more useful in order to change up the gameplay a bit to make it more interesting. Not just this run and gun crap we see today.

You guys have got to be kidding Ok lets stop calling it hack or a script, lets call it an exploit
So where do i begin to explain this to noobs. Hmmm The game was balanced, with ENERGY CONSUMPTION in mind, if u dont config a pritty good vehicle, u will run out of energy. You guys probly couldnt even start to config a good vehicle by the way. Now this Exploit lol would enable u to not pay attention to ENERGY CONSUMPTION,(am i getting through to la la land?), and would allow you mount the smallest lightest reactor on any config, without fear of ENERGY CONSUMPTION and this in turn would give you some extra tons for you to work with, such as better shields weps, ect... lol Its a hack lol some scripts are hacks lol its whatever.. IT IS CHEATING Plz spare me the dumb a s s ery
Banning unblanced weps such as mines missles and sguns is hacking? Where should i LOL at?

Your argument is invalid. Without energy - no shields. No shields? Dead. Simple enough. /end.

I've never read this script before but I assume it's meant to keep your HUD GUI up even if your energy reaches 0 (Which, by the way, I have an Apocalypse that sucks little to no energy, I'll give you specs if you want.) The GUI would therefore not be related to the reactors themselves (editing every single reactor would be a pain in the ass, and not useable with clients). Therefore, we can assume the energy does go down, thus loss of shields, and loss of power in energy weapons.

Er, reading enough of these posts.
The script does no such thing. Hud display is client side. Weapon ammo, energy, and shields are server side. The only thing the script does is set the visibility on the hud components to true. The reactor will still hit 0% energy, energy weapons still suffer from lack of energy meaning they charge to about 10-20% and then fire doing little and shields will not recharge.

To be honest, no. It would seem to be more of a hinderance than a help, because atleast when the HUD goes off you know you're out of energy and can fall back and wait to recharge, while with this you might get so into it you don't realize you're out of energy.

It isn't a cheat because the only thing you gain is a possible aid in helping you aim...when a lot of people can't really aim even with a hud. It's not like an aim bot.
